For the first time in our nation’s history, a woman was on the ballot as a major party nominee for President of the United States. This was a significant advancement for gender equality in and of itself.
Now is the time to build on that first
We must fight for a future where all children receive quality education and messages that they are strong and resilient; where girls are not stereotyped but rather celebrated for their individual identities and inherent strengths; where opportunities exist for everyone to prepare for interesting work and become economically independent–with each person receiving equal pay for equal work. In short, we must ensure a country where the contributions of women and girls are fully recognized and embraced.
Together, we can tackle the barriers standing in the way of every girl valuing her whole self, developing her strengths, and becoming “the first” in her own right.
Thank you for standing with us as we stand for girls.
