Satisfies Health Studies Internship Requirements

Brief Internship Description:  This health related internship provides an opportunity for interns to teach and assess preventive strategies towards teen pregnancy prevention utilizing evidence-based, medically accurate curriculum. You will work with girls from 5th-8th grade, and 9th-12th grade using two different sets of curriculum.

Interns will also partake in program design and development, marketing and outreach efforts, and acquire a wide variety of experiences with implementing a comprehensive pregnancy prevention program with at-risk populations in a community setting.

Internship Requirements and Information

  • 3 credits (9 hours per week) required. This is an unpaid internship.
  • You must be able to arrange transportation to Girls Inc. campuses and to other community centers outside of Girls Inc.
  • Must be able to work with a team
  • 1 internship opportunity is available per semester
