Esmeralda joined Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas in May of 2019 as the Director of Curriculum and Training. In her role, she supports program facilitators to ensure alignment of program planning and delivery with Girls Inc. national standards.  Prior to joining Girls Inc., she served at KIPP TX DFW Public Schools for twelve years as teacher, grade level chair, assistant principal, principal and family and community engagement coordinator. She began her career in education at YES College Prep-Southeast in Houston, TX as seventh grade mathematics teacher. Esmeralda received her B.A. in Electrical Engineering and Hispanic Studies from Rice University, Houston, TX and her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership with Urban School Specialization from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.  Esmeralda is proud to serve her hometown and is committed to working toward educational equity. Outside of Girls Inc., she enjoys spending time with her two kids, husband, and close-knit extended family.
