Girls Inc. Inaugural Ciders & Songs: A Night to Inspire, Empower, and Celebrate!
On Saturday, November 9th, there was an undeniable electric energy at the Gilley’s South Side Ballroom as the Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas hosted its inaugural Ciders & Songs fundraiser. From the moment you stepped through the doors, there was a spark of joy, laughter, and anticipation. This was not just any event—it was a celebration of music, food, and community, all in support of empowering young girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
A Mission That Resonates Deeply
Girls Inc. carries a mission that is as bold as the girls it serves: “Inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.” Simple yet powerful, this mission ignites a sense of purpose in everyone it touches. It is what brought hundreds of people together for a night of fundraising and fun.
While taking the stage before beginning her set, the talented Kate Watson shared her heartfelt connection to the mission. “I wish an organization like this existed when I was growing up,” she said. “This is a cause I can get behind.” Her words struck a chord with the audience, setting the perfect tone for the night.
A Night Filled with Music and Joy
The lineup was nothing short of amazing, with performances by Kate Watson and Jake Ingram that had the crowd singing along well into the evening. Their energy filled the ballroom, blending seamlessly with the enticing smells of delicious food and the cheerful chatter of families enjoying the night.
And let us not forget about the girls themselves—the stars of the evening! Watching them confidently stroll through the room, playing games with their friends and families, was a sight to behold. A beautiful sight. They radiated self-assurance, knowing that this night was all about celebrating and supporting them.
The Heart of the Matter: Impact
Events like Ciders & Songs are not just about having a fun time—they are about making a substantial impact. Funds raised will ensure Girls Inc. can continue providing transformative programs that build confidence, leadership, and resilience in young girls.
For attendees like Kaye Menyfield, the impact of Girls Inc. is personal. “I love that Girls Inc. creates opportunities like this for my granddaughter Jameshia,” she said. “She’s been able to build strong, positive friendships.”
And Jameshia? She has been a proud part of Girls Inc. for four years. “It’s so cool to be in this program and make new friends,” she shared with a smile. Girls like Jameshia are the reason this organization exists.
The Beginning of Something Big
As the night ended, the energy did not fade. This inaugural event was just the beginning of a tradition that will continue to grow, inspire, and empower.
