SHARE

Brasfield & Gorrie recently partnered with the Dallas chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) to host a day camp that educated young girls about the construction industry through presentations and activities.

More than 90 girls ages six through nine from Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas learned about the construction industry during the camp.

The camp partnership is an example of how Brasfield & Gorrie is working to create a diverse and robust future workforce by exposing students to construction careers.

Educational events at the day camp included a panel discussion with industry professionals, a hands-on planter building activity, and presentations focusing on various topics including safety and construction equipment.

Brasfield & Gorrie was joined by United Rentals, King of Texas Roofing, Regional Hispanic Contractors Associations (RHCA), and Gerdau Reinforcing Steel to sponsor the event presented by Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas and NAWIC. The event was held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, at the RHCA offices in Dallas.
